Mercedes ISD has always prided itself in offering a variety of healthy, well balanced meals that exceed the federal nutrition standards, ensuring that students have all the nutrition they need to succeed at school. Meals, foods and beverages sold or served at schools meet state and federal requirements based on the USDA Dietary Guidelines. All meals, foods and beverages are prepared and served by qualified child nutrition professionals. We provide students with access to a variety of affordable and appealing foods that meet the health and nutrition needs of students.
School Lunch Menus were developed based on student feedback received from the following: -"Rate Your Plate" online survey -Student Focus Groups -Taste Testing Sessions
Our goal as the Mercedes Child Nutrition Service is to ensure that our students receive good nutrition through the service of our high quality, healthy and well-balanced food on a daily basis. We hope you find that true when you step into our cafeterias and that you have enjoyed our nutritious and delicious meals!
